Ingios Wraps Up APLT at the Iowa DOT Boone Expo Research Site
March 27, 2025

This week, the Ingios field team is wrapping up the last round of accelerated/seasonal Automated Plate Load Tests (APLT) at the Iowa DOT Boone Expo Research Site.
Ninety-four (94) tests were performed over two days, and each test point simulates 150 heavy truck passes.
Prof. Jeramy Ashlock at ISU Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering's, leads this research funded by the Iowa DOT. The results will be used to optimize future pavement foundation designs to achieve a 100-year design life.
Several pavement foundation layers, including cement, geogrid, fiber, mechanical, and other stabilization methods, were used to support the pavement sections constructed in 2012.
